Motus Adventure Ed-Tech
What is Motus Adventure?
Adventure is a passive, omni-directional treadmill enabling users to move freely and safely in VR environments. It uses an ultra-low-friction platform and special shoes to simulate walking and running and has been used by big brands and organisations in 33 countries.
Who can use Adventure?
Anyone can use the Adventure with a user age range spanning 4yrs to 103yrs-old. Ideal for walking and balance / self-confidence rehabilitation, including after falls for older adults, those with physical impairments and recovering athletes. Its simple design makes it accessible for a wide variety of users and settings, including rehabilitation centres, retirement communities and hospitals.
What makes Adventure different?
We don't remember how our legs move when we walk. The Motus VR team answered the key question: how to make VR movement so natural, you forget you're doing it and the solution is Adventure.
Adventure was designed for a wide ability user-base, with no weight, height or ability restrictions. With design input from leading physio and orthopaedic consultants, its harness-free design and portability make it a flexible and easy-to-use tool for clinicians and care providers.
Why is Adventure VR so memorable?
We understand the world through movement, so called kinaesthetic memory. The steps we take tell us about distance, relative size, and orientation, and crucially, alongside visual cues, assists recall for navigation and helps develop our sense of space and position. We do all this intuitively and much is lost if we move through VR scenes using hand controllers.
